Judge Sylvia Grunor
Seminole County Judge
Sylvia Grunor is not new to Seminole County. Her family moved here from Whiskey Holler, Alabama in 1976. She met her husband Steve when he moved into the house across the street from her parents. We know she understands commitment because they have been married for 47 years. They have one daughter, Madison. Sylvia is inspired by her daughter, the victim of a chronic illness. She doesn’t accept “can’t” and strives to complete her goals despite the challenges that she faces.
Sylvia attended the University of Central Florida, and the Stetson University College of Law, graduating in 1989.
Judge Grunor has had a diverse legal career, after law school she went on to clerk for Judge Warren Cobb at the Fifth District Court of Appeal. She served at the State Attorney's Office protecting our community and working to make it a safer place to live, then into into private practice at the law firm of Weiss, Grunor and Barnett where she focused on family and trial law. She was appointed to the bench in 2024 because of amazing qualifications and commitment to the law.
While serving as a County Court Judge, she was appointed by the Chief Judge of the 18th Circuit to serve as a Circuit Judge in the Family Law Division because of her qualifications and commitment to the law.
Since her appointment she has served the people of Seminole County with commitment, integrity and a respect for the law. Now she needs your vote on August 18th to keep serving Seminole County.
